Borderlands 2: Missing Items and What to Do

Have you or a loved one ever loaded up into your Borderlands save and noticed some items, Golden Keys or even your Badass Rank missing? We may be able to help!

The following info will be necessary for us to look into your SHiFT account:

  • Your SHiFT ID: This can be found in-game or on the SHiFT website.
  • The email address associated with your SHiFT account:
  • The items missing: An exact number is best, but a rough estimate is also great!

Note: An online subscription (such as PlayStation Plus, Xbox Game Pass or  Nintendo Online) is necessary to obtain any items from Customer Support.

Once you have all that information, please reach out to us in a support ticket.

I’m missing Golden Keys!

Support may be able to replace Golden Keys that are missing from your bank. Please reach out with the amount missing, or a rough estimate, as well as what happened before the keys went missing and we can help to investigate further.

If you’ve just recently redeemed some SHiFT codes and don’t see your keys, then be sure to check out our article here to ensure you haven’t hit the soft cap of Golden Keys in your inventory. If you haven’t hit that soft cap and still don’t see those keys, then please send in a ticket along with the codes you redeemed so that we can take a look.

 

I’m missing my customizations!

Customizations obtained from SHiFT codes may be replaced, but any other customizations picked up from the world cannot be. Please still reach out with the customizations you’re missing and we’ll see what we can do.

 

I’m missing my BAR (Bad Ass Rank)!

Lost BAR can be replaced. Let us know the amount missing BAR, not of the amount of BA tokens, and we’ll be happy to dig into it. If you’re not sure of the amount missing, your best estimate is also welcome!

 

I’m missing items from my inventory!

Items that are dropped as loot or received from missions can’t be recovered or replaced apart from picking them up in-world off of bad guys or during gameplay. You can still reach out with an estimate of the missing items so we can help to investigate further.

Items redeemed through SHiFT codes can be recovered, so be sure to let us know which items you’re missing and the codes used to redeem them.

 

How can I help to prevent these things from going missing in the future?

To avoid items going missing, always make sure to choose "Save & Quit" from the pause menu before turning your console off. Also, be sure that you allow SHiFT to finish authentication before exiting the title screen. This can take upwards of a few minutes, so kick back and let SHiFT do its thing to save all of your sweet, sweet loot to its systems.
