Borderlands 4: Third Party Tools, Mods, and Add-Ons

Kairos is a competitive world, and it's easy to want to get the edge up on your enemies! However, there are some acts that are a step too far when we want to keep things fun and fair for all Vault Hunters. Some third-party add-ons and software count as unfair, so we want to provide a little clarity for you. Our Code of Conduct is a great place to start if you want to understand a little more about this.

If You Were Redirected to This Page:

Your game session was interrupted, and you’ve been redirected here because our systems detected the presence of a third-party tool that is not permitted by our Code of Conduct. Our goal is to ensure fair play and protect the integrity of the game experience for all players.

Please note: Your game account has not been banned or suspended.

To regain access, please remove the detected tool from your system and restart the game.

See the steps to help you resolve the issues below:

First, try reinstalling the game:

Removing the unauthorized tool and restarting your game should resolve the problem. However, if you're still having trouble, please follow the additional steps below:

  • Steam
    • Open your Steam client.
    • Navigate to your Library.
    • Right-click the game and select Manage > Uninstall.
    • After the game is uninstalled, click Install to reinstall it.
    • Once the installation is complete, launch the game.
  • Epic Games
    • Open the Epic Games Launcher.
    • Go to your Library.
    • Click the three dots next to the game title and select Uninstall.
    • After it's uninstalled, return to the library and click Install.
    • Once the installation is complete, launch the game.

If the steps above do not solve the issue, try cleaning the Steam/Epic Games installation by following the steps below:

Steam

  • Uninstall Steam
    • Important: This will delete all games and data associated with your Steam installation.
    • Click the Start Menu (Windows icon at the bottom-left corner of your screen).
    • Type "Add or remove programs" and click it when it appears.
    • In the list of programs, scroll down and find Steam, then click the Uninstall button.
    • A prompt will appear – follow the instructions to complete the uninstall
  • Delete Leftover Steam Files
    • After uninstalling Steam, delete any remaining Steam folders to ensure a clean reinstall:
      • C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\
      • C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Local\Steam\
      • C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\Steam\
  • Reinstall Steam
  • Reinstall the Game
    • Once Steam is installed, log in with your account, go to your Library, and reinstall the game.
  • Launch the Game
    • After installation is completed, launch the game. You should now be able to play without issues.

Epic Games

  • Uninstall Epic Games Launcher
    • Important: This will delete all games and data associated with your Epic Games installation.
    • Click the Start Menu (Windows icon at the bottom-left corner of your screen).
    • Type "Add or remove programs" and click it when it appears.
    • In the list of programs, scroll down and find Epic Games Launcher, then click the Uninstall button.
  • Delete Leftover Epic Games Launcher Files
    • After uninstalling Epic Games Launcher, delete any remaining folders to ensure a clean reinstall:
      • C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\
      • C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Local\EpicGamesLauncher\
  • Reinstall Epic Games Launcher
  • Reinstall the Game
    • Once Epic is installed, log in with your account, go to your Library, and reinstall the game.
  • Launch the Game
    • After installation is completed, launch the game. You should now be able to play without issues.
