Golden Keys. You know 'em. I know 'em.
You've got some stashed away from different promotions, pre-orders, bonus offers or from one of the many SHiFT codes we place around for you Vault Hunters to sniff out. I bet you're wondering just where to redeem them at, yeah?
Well, there are quite a few Golden Chests scattered around Kairos. Those Golden Keys you've got are meant for those Golden Chests, and inside is some quality loot. Cool. It's also scaled to your character’s level at the moment you open the chest. Even cooler.
So, the next big thing to consider is if you want all that loot now, or later.
Whatever you choice is, just keep in mind that Golden Keys can't be traded or sold, and each key can only be used once. When it's gone, it's gone for good.
The loot you receive with those Golden Keys can still be traded, sold or stored though.
At the end of the day, they're your keys. Do what you want with 'em!
What if I'm missing my Golden Keys?
Golden Keys are added directly to your inventory when redeemed. No need to claim them from the rewards menu!
The way to check your current Golden Key total in-game is to head to the inventory tab and hover over the "Currency" tab in the lower right corner. This will show of all the current currency in your pocket, like your cash and your eridium, as well as those Golden Keys.
If you've just redeemed some SHiFT codes on the website, be sure to give your game a restart. They may not be showing up if you've left your game on pause or in stand-by mode, so be sure to close out of Borderlands 4 completely and give it a fresh reboot.
