How to disable communications in Borderlands 4:
To adjust voice chat:
- Select Options
- Head to Network/Socials
- Toggle Voice Chat on or off
To block/mute a player:
- Open the SHiFT menu
- Head to the Friends
- Scroll over to the Search tab
- Search the player you’d like to block via their SHiFT display name
- Select the player’s profile
- Select to Block Via SHiFT
How to disable communications by platform:
Microsoft Xbox Series X|S
To adjust voice chat:
- Head to Settings then Account
- Select Privacy & Online safety
- Select Xbox Privacy to View Details & Customize
- Select Communication & Multiplayer
You can then adjust your communication settings to your personal preference.
To block a player:
- Press the Xbox button
- Go to "People"
- Select the recent player, then choose More > Block.
Sony PlayStation 5
To adjust voice chat:
- Press the PlayStation button to open the Control Center
- Select Sound
- Select Game Voice Chat

To block a player:
- Go to the player's profile in the Recent Players list under the Game Base menu
- Select the Options button (three dots), and select Block.

To adjust voice chat:
- Press the C Button
- Select the Settings icon
- Select Audio
You can then adjust your communication settings to your personal preference.
To block a player:
- Select your user icon on the Home Menu, then select Add Friend
- Select Search for Users You Played With
- Select Block, then select Block again to confirm.
Steam
To block a player:
- Open the Steam friends list
- Go to the Recent Players tab
Find the user, and select Block all communication
