Borderlands 3 save files can be transferred between different generations of the same console. Check out the steps below to learn how to move them over from your PS4 or Xbox One to your PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.
A few things to note before getting started:
- Be sure to have a SHiFT account to transfer the files.
- It’s recommended to only transfer one Vault Hunter at a time. If you attempt to transfer multiple they may overwrite each other.
- An internet connection is required.
To transfer saves:
- Open Borderlands 3 to the main menu on your PS4/Xbox One
- Select Play
- Select Load Character
- Head back to the Play menu and select Upload Save
- Once the save is successful, move over to your PS5/Xbox Series X|S and open Borderlands 3 to the main menu
- Select Play
- Select Download Save
Then, repeat the steps as many times as necessary to transfer over all of your saves!
